Grinding & Sanding

Grinding and sanding products can help to make surfaces smooth and clean. If you're working on wood, metal or doing home repairs, we have the right tool for every job. Sanding products come in three main grades that are each used for different tasks. Coarse-grade products are rough and strong and they are ideal for big jobs like taking off old paint, smoothing rough wood or removing rust. They will usually be marked with lower numbers such as 40 to 80 grit.

Medium-grade products (around 100 to 150 grit) are the middle option. They are designed for preparing new surfaces or evening out areas that aren't quite level. Medium level grinding and sanding products are the step between rough work and finishing touches. Fine-grade products (180 to 400 grit) are for the final stages. They can be used between coats of paint, to get rid of small marks or to make something really smooth. For extra-fine work, including car finishing or fine furniture, there are even finer grades above 600.

Grinding and sanding products come in different forms. Regular sandpaper is used for hand sanding, round discs for power tools and long belts for larger jobs. Sanding blocks are good for flat surfaces and sponges work well on curved areas. Some newer products come with special features like dust collection or water resistance for wet sanding. Many modern sanding products now work better and last longer than older versions. They are designed to create less dust and be more comfortable to use which makes DIY and professional work easier and cleaner.
