Wall Ties

Wall ties are building components that connect the inner and outer leaves of cavity walls and they give structural stability in construction projects. These components make sure that the two wall sections work together as a single structural unit while also maintaining the integrity of the cavity space between them.

Type 4 ties are used in domestic construction and they are specifically designed for box-form constructions and internal cavity walls. These light-duty ties are suitable for buildings up to 10 meters in height which makes them ideal for residential properties. However, their use is generally restricted to flat sites in urban areas where wind speeds don't exceed 25 meters per second and at altitudes below 150 meters above sea level. Our type 4 wall ties are made from stainless steel, so they have excellent durability and resistance to corrosion. This is an important factor given their concealed installation within the wall cavity. They come in various lengths to accommodate different cavity widths and our range includes ties from 200mm to 250mm, which enables builders to select the appropriate size for their specific project requirements.

Complementing the wall ties are insulation retaining clips that are an important accessory in cavity wall construction. These clips are 80mm diameter in size and they are designed to secure the cavity wall insulation firmly in place. The clips can be fitted to most styles and sizes of wall ties, either during the initial construction or afterwards. The universal design of the clips makes them suitable for use with both fibre and rigid slab insulation.
