What is Enviroboard used for?

Enviroboard is a versatile fireproof construction board that is fast becoming a staple material across the building industry. It is known in the trade as a higher quality, cheaper alternative to other brands of fire-resistant material – namely Supalux and Masterboard. Enviroboard is designed to contain the combined properties of wood-based panels and provide a strong bonding and crushing strength that acts the same as concrete. It is constructed using magnesium oxide reinforced with a fibreglass mesh, making it highly resistant to moisture, mold and mildew, and ideal for use in rooms that tend to be damp and humid.

Common uses of Enviroboard:
  • Internal partition walls and ceilings
  • Roofing
  • Eaves
  • Gables
  • Oil tank surrounds
  • Boundary walls
As the name suggests, Enviroboard is built to be environmentally friendly. It’s non-toxic, odourless, and acts as a repellant against fungus and pests. The chemical makeup of the product means it can also be disposed of via landfill with no risk of harmful emissions or damage to the environment. The surface of enviroboard has very strong binding properties, which means it is suitable for all kinds of paint finishes and direct wallpapering. We stock both 9mm and 12mm thick Class O Enviroboard options, perfect for your construction needs.
